What?! Another version of Army you ask in disbelief and frustration. 
Well, this one is a little different. No longer will I have to suffer the hopeless US theatrical cut (which actually runs 5 minutes shorter than the version that was on the UK's cinemas screens and videos) or the absymal grainy as fuck director's cut version put out by AB.
I read this news elsewhere quite some time ago but I've only just acquired my own copy of MGM's Region 3 NTSC Director's Cut of Army. I can't praise this release highly enough. I don't think that Raimi or Evil Dead fans can judge this film properly until they've seen this version.
An amazing 5.1 sound remix and whereas there is MINOR print damage and graininess, this is about 6 zillion times better than the unwatchable makin' my eyes hurt d.c. put out by AB.
One has to wonder why AB have just released Army again but merely under a different name (boomstick edition) when MGM can put out something like this in Asia. I can't praise this alternative version of Army enough - seek it out people.
