"Apparently the story is that Patrick Bateman has died, not been arrest as previously mentioned. After that one of his victims,Rachael Newman, resurfaces after surviving a traumatic attack by Bateman."
Did I completely misinterpret American Psycho? I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but I thought that the film implied that Bateman had imagined all of his crimes.

actually the entire point of the film's surrealism is that the ending is for you to decide. u may think he just imagined the murders, or maybe they really happened, it's up to the audience to get what they want from this movie.
yeah i agree, a sequel would ruin the existential meanings and the entire story's purpose.

Glad to read an explanation of the ending. Sorry Pizowell, but I got kinda bored watching it and wasn't sure what the hell happened in the end. Most memorable part to me was the one-upmanship on the business cards because I have actually seen that male crap in many board rooms.

thats fuckin bullshit. it pisses me off so much when hollywood makes shitty ass sequels that have nothing to do with what the author intended. AP was a great film, and its ending was there for a reason. if u want to make a sequel out of it with a chick as the killer then why not just make a whole seperate movie and not call it American Psycho2. Pisses me off!  |

The thing is ... it was intended to be a movie that stands alone. Then they realized that it wouldn't, so they decided to call it AP2. Weak!
