Michael Myers was the british distributor for Assault on Precinct 13. JC used his name as a attribute toawrd him for helping him on Assault.

What movie inspired Halloween?
Whilst it was originally planned as a sequel of sorts to Bob Clark's Black Christmas, the fact that JC has always called Halloween "my Dario Argento movie" makes me think that Suspiria and Deep Red were actually much more of a direct inspiration on the final product.
Especially since it's known that JC wrote a letter to Dario Argento stating as such. Fact. Even the type of score JC wrote for Halloween reflects this (simple repetitive haunting melody as in Suspiria).
