I got no shame, I'll quite happily admit that I like this daft franchise. Your mission, should you choose to accept it (ie, if you can be bothered to!), is to provide a top-ten in order of preference. Please join in. Counting down...
10 - F13th 8 - Jason Takes Manhatten. 9 - Part 5 - A New Beginning. (the one with the scooby doo ending) 8 - Jason Goes To Hell. (an unrated cut can only help a film so much!) 7 - F13th 7 - The New Blood. 6 - F13th part 3. 5 - Jason X. (contraversial I know) 4 - F13th 4 - The Final Chapter. 3 - F13th 6 - Jason Lives. 2 - F13th Part 2. 1 - The original F13th.
Not sure why many folks hate Jason X, maybe you can explain it to me?
Uber Jason ain't a replacement for Mr. Hockey Mask but just a parallel universe version.
And yep, Jason X contains lots of humour, but don't nearly all of these films? Quite often unintentionally!

well, i love the series too. i grew up watching those things. that's why it was so hard for me to see jason x suck. i just didn't see the humor in it at all. the only thing remotely witty in that movie was when jason met those two campers during that flashback thingy. anywhoo, here's my list:
10. Jason X (this one could swap with Jason Goes To Hell, considering what mood I was in) 9. Jason Goes To Hell 8. Friday 3 7. Friday 2 6. Friday 8 5. Friday 7 (the first one i saw and holds a special place in my heart) 4. Friday 4 (gotta love that crispin glover performance) 3. Friday 5 (underrated tit/goof fest) 2. Friday 6 1. Friday 1
it's hard to rank them considering i like them all with the exception of 3, 9, and 10.

You didn't find Jason X funny? Hmmm, I'm afraid I found it very amusing so it must just be my unusual sense of humour. You've also got to love any F13 movie which starts with Jason killing David Cronenberg! Jason X is the first F13 film in a long time to be handled by a talented director. The film has a "comic-book" look with it's muted greys and browns at the start and then the bright colours that emerge later on once aboard the ship. I've personally got to go with Jason Takes Manhatten as the worst. Just a few reasons why: - We hardly see Jason for the whole film. - "Take your best shot!" Hmmm. - Jason acts like a tool. Raising his mask to frighten street-punks away or smashing up a cafe and throwing a guy into a mirror? Why not just kill them? - The little boy's voice that comes out of his mouth at the end. - A huge ship populated by around 20 people. - The murders are dull. Holding a man upside-down in a barrel of water being a very good example. - Piss poor static direction.

i used to feel the same way about jason takes manhattan, but have recently grown to like it. like all the movies, it has it's flaws, but i think it's fun. also make note that i like friday 2 more than the ranking i gave it would show. i have a hard ranking them considering i'm fan of almost all of them.

I enjoy poking fun at them but it has to be said that I thoroughly enjoy 8 of the 10 made so far. The Manhatten and Jason Goes To Hell films being the only exceptions. I actually enjoy part 5 but I really loathe that daft twist at the end that they came up with. It was much more fun when I thought it was Jason rather than some daft idea about someone else wearing a (perfect!) disguise. Jason Goes To Hell frustrates me for the same reasons as the Manhatten flick. Namely poor direction and a frustrating lack of Jason. And when we do see him, he's got a weird lumpy head! Freddy vs Jason. Thoughts on this? Let's hope it's better than I'm expecting, eh? BTW Fun as it is to talking to nice guy pizowell, would anybody else also like to join in this chat? You don't really have to provide a top-ten, just a few thoughts on the franchise to date would do. Even if you want to say that ALL the F13th films blow goats, I'd still find it interesting. It's always pleasing to read a variety of opinions on different subjects.

Oh well, folks are more than welcome to jump into the thread with any F13th thoughts later on.
So pizowell, what are your expectations on the forthcoming Freddy vs Jason flick? Are you at all optimistic?
