Mary Reilly The classic tale of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde takes a differant twist when it's seen through the eye's of Mary Reilly (J.Roberts) Dr.Jekyll's faithful maid. A surprisingly well acted and directed version of the litterary classic. John Malkovich is both charismatic and chilling as both Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde but Julia Roberts falls flat in her title role with a rather stoic performance.

I voted for 2 out of 5.
Because John Malkavich didn't play his two characters well-separated. It's a performance where the only ones fooled into thinking it was brilliant were the supporting cast. And then, all you could do was laugh at them for being such fools. Though this isn't a very funny movie. So, you can't even enjoy it for it's unintentional humor. I didn't enjoy it very much at all. Though I much dug Glenn Close as the brothel mistress. Now, SHE was scary! And very intimidating.
