im just as offended as all of you are, but dont be so quick to judge this film by its casting. ryan phillipe is in the crappy teen genre, but he does know how to act. the film Way of the Gun, he starred with benicio del toro, was a pretty good film and they both did a good job in it.

hey everyonei talked to a friend of mine today who had some info. on Michael Bay and TCSM. Suposely michael Bay does not want to produce big budget films anymore, So he's gonna produce a bunch of small budget films, starting with a remake of TCSM.
what I want to know is, is he want to produce such low budget films while would he cast big stars, none the less remake a classic. I mean has hollywood gone crazy. there are so many people out there with good oringal horror scripts waiting to be made, but unless you make someone a billionaire off of your script you have no luck.
what pisses me off is they don't think about the true fans, people like us, we all want something new. but we want the great classics to be respected.
I can see if Tobe Hooper wanted to remake TCSM, because it was his film to begin with, and maybe he feels it could of been better.
It's just like Stephen King did with the shining, and what George Romero did with Night of the Living Dead. (even though he did not direct it, he still had a big say in the project).
It's different when the person who made the film wants to make it better ,and/or for a wole new generation to experence.
But when people remake films just cause they think they can do better and make more cash off of it, i think it's disrespectful to the oringal crerator of the story.

Ok I wne to Michael Bay's site since I'm such a reserch nut. There was really nothing posted about TCSM, however on his message board there were two posts on was by an actor wh owanted to try out the other was from the guy who owned the property where the oringal film was shot and offered for them to use the basement of the place or some shit. But no where on the site did it say anthing about it, at least fro mwhat i read. I said that he's doing two commericals, Bad Boys 2, and I am Legend.
